Although we’re still going through uncertain times, the DVSA has recently announced that, after months of disruption, the test booking service has now allocated several hundred thousand appointments. This covers a huge backlog of candidates awaiting patiently for a test date.
Booking tests right through to January might seem like a risky strategy currently, but I guess the Department is in a bit of a lose / lose predicament. Keep the booking limited and they could have the waiting list spiral out of control.
On the other hand, offering appointments in the knowledge they may have to be withdrawn should the Covid situation significantly worsen is also not without issues. Let’s all hope it doesn’t come to that.
DCS has said so long and safe driving to 4 trainees since tests restarted, all of whom passed on their first attempts. Well done Claire, Iwan, Alex and Morgan, all have well and truly earned their pink license – and exclusive edition DCS mug, as demonstrated below by my mate Neil!

Nearly time for the Owen trio to head South for a few days holiday by the sea (our first caravan adventure!) I’ll look forward to a bit of a paddle, maybe a game of cricket – hopefully do better than the England ODI team I’ve just seen getting beat 🙁 – and losing a few quid in the arcades. Grand job!
Happy September 🙂
